GREATER NOIDA: Commemorating 150 years of the Mahatma, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, celebrated its inter-school cultural fest, ‘Maitrayee 2019’ on 29th November, 2019 which witnessed around 200 participants from various prestigious schools across NCR.

The fest commenced with a welcome song, followed by the lamp lighting by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rina Singh along with student representatives of the participating schools. The judges for the event were honoured with potted plants after which the participants moved to the various competition venues.

The competitions revolving around the philosophy of inclusiveness, freedom and voices of democracy, saw the participants, participating with immense enthusiasm in the Poster Making, Mural, Choir, Recitation, Extempore, Quiz, Essay writing, Band and Play.

The play performance by Apeejay International School, enthralled the judges as well as the audience and was adjudged as First! It had Hitler accusing ‘Democracy’ of polluting the minds of the youngsters while Gandhi went all out in defending the accused. It was a power packed performance with students portraying the roles of powerful politicians across the world from yesteryears and now.

The dancers of DPS, Siddharth Vihar enamored the audience with their stellar performance and bagged the first prize. The winners of the other events were Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, Apeejay Swarn Global, Apeejay Saket, JKG International, Somerville Gr. Noida, Modern School, Barakhamba Road.

DPS Rajnagar, was awarded the trophy of the ‘Best School’ as bagged the maximum number of prizes. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rina Singh who expressed her gratitude to all the participating school. The event was extremely successful.
